About us – kiwicricketodds
This site reads cricket betting in New Zealand through the market’s real mechanics: how odds express probability, why a tote and fixed odds differ, what a promotion demands of a punter and where the law stands. Bets are not taken, tips are not sold and returns are not promised, since no bet is certain to win.
Sources on cricket and other sports
Facts about a provider come from its own terms, help pages and footers. Legal facts come from statute texts and publications of public bodies. Odds and offers move quickly, so a figure in an article carries the time and place where it applied. Where sources stop, the matter is put in words and no number is made up.
How legal status is checked
No register of licensed bookmakers exists in New Zealand, since the country has one lawful provider: from 28 June 2025 only TAB NZ may offer racing and sports betting to people here, under its brands TAB and Betcha. The Department of Internal Affairs and the Racing Industry Act 2020 and Racing Industry Amendment Act 2025 are the sources. The Department states that an overseas company offering these bets is breaking the law, and the same sources show the law is aimed at the operator, not the punter. Appearing in a ranking is never a licence.
Readers and limits
The material is written for adults in New Zealand, as betting with TAB NZ opens at 18. It is no substitute for legal or tax advice. Where betting is taking more time or money than intended, the Gambling Helpline and Safer Gambling Aotearoa are the places to turn.
